The Bank of Prescott was officially organized on August 5, 1904 by a group of
local citizens lead by Thomas C. McRae, a former United States Congressman and future governor of Arkansas.
(On April 14, 2001, the Prescott Middle School was renamed to honor Governor
McRae. To read the dedication speech made by local attorney James H.
McKenzie, The Bank of Prescott celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1979. To
commemorate the event, the bank published an anniversary booklet filled with old
pictures and historical information. To view parts of the 75th Anniversary
